Do I have to pull a permit to perform electrical work at my home?

Deer Park's Code of Ordinances does not allow a homeowner to perform their own electrical work. A registered electrician must pull the permit and perform the work. Even simple work such as installing new outlets will require a permit. This is to ensure that things are performed according to the correct electrical codes and to ensure your families safety. Contact the public works office for more information at 281-478-7270.
