The crime analysis unit was created to assist the Patrol and Investigations divisions in monitoring crime and identifying crime trends and/or similarities. Crime bulletins and maps are periodically disseminated throughout the department identifying and highlighting crimes of interest, high numbers of incidents, and/or crime sprees within the City of Deer Park. The unit is also responsible for coding crime data in compliance with state and national guidelines governing Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) data.
The crime analysis function also encompasses statistical reporting for both internal and external users. Statistical reports are generated monthly or on an as needed basis by patrol or administration. An example of the reports generated by the unit for internal usage include crime statistic reports, accident analyses, repeat calls for service by location, and summarized incident reports. Additionally, reports are available to the citizens of Deer Park summarizing crime or accident data by location, as requested. To request a report, complete the Crime Analysis Request Form.
CrimeReports.com provides online crime statistics compiled in list, map, and graph form (analytics tab). To obtain information for Deer Park, enter '77536' in the search bar. Users can perform searches by date, crime type, or distance; plot local sex offenders on a map; and view information in graph format.
P2C allows citizens to search and request incidents, accidents, and arrests online. To request an incident or arrest report, select the 'Search for Events' link and enter search criteria; once the record is located, select 'View' to view the report. To request an accident report, select the 'Get a Crash Report' link; a name and date of the accident is required to access the report. Once the report is located, users may print an accident report at no charge.
