- Bayou Bend Drainage Project
The Bayou Bend Regional Stormwater Detention Facility and Associated Drainage Improvements will include construction of a stormwater detention pond in Bayou Bend Park and improvement of drainage ditch / culverts / storm sewers along Valeda Drive, Stephanie Drive, Coy Drive, Spa Drive, parts of Wisdom Drive and W. Temperance Drive.
This project will be funded by a Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) - Hurricane Harvey. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated funding to Harris County through the Texas General Land Office (GLO). The grant for this project will be administered through the Harris County Community Services Department (HCCSD) and the City of Deer Park is a subrecipient. The City of Deer Park is also contributing funding for this project.
An open house with local residents is scheduled for Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Jimmy Burke Activity Center located at 500 W. 13th Street, here in Deer Park. (Notice of Open House)

The Bayou Bend Regional Detention Facility and Associated Drainage Project was awarded to Mar-Con Services in the amount of $2,935,697.40. The project was awarded by City Council at their meeting held 10/18/2022.
The Notice to Proceed on this project was issued for December 1, 2022.
